Fall Leaves Will Soon Be Falling!

It seems as though summer just ended, but soon those in Coastal Delaware will be knee-deep in leaves.  Fortunately, the City of Rehoboth makes a tedious job a little easier by allowing residents to rake their leaves into the street for municipal pick-up.  Here are the rules and collection schedule:

City Manager Greg Ferrese announced that the City of Rehoboth Beach leaf collection schedule will begin on Monday, October 22, 2012 and end on May 3, 2013. City residents are requested to comply with the following guidelines:

1. Leaves are to be at the curb line.

2. Do not place any type of foreign materials such as: lumber, stones, bricks, branches, any type of garden or flower bed stalks, etc. in with the leaves. If any such items are found to be present, the leaf pile will not be picked up. Any materials other than leaves can cause personal injuries and damage the leaf machine. A separate fee will be charged for such items.

3. Any grass clippings should be bagged and put out on regular trash day.

4. All tree limbs must be put into separate piles and tied in 50 lb. bundles.

5. No building materials will be collected.

COLLECTION SCHEDULE:

Monday: Boardwalk to Scarborough Ave.: Prospect, Queen, St. Lawrence, Rodney, Norfolk, Lake Drive

Tuesday: Boardwalk to Scarborough Ave.: Stockley, New Castle, Hickman, Laurel, Brooklyn, Munson, Philadelphia

Wednesday: Delaware, Wilmington, Christian, Country Club Estates, State Road, Lee, School Lane, New Castle Ext., Stockley Ext., Scarborough Ext., Silver Lane

Thursday: Canal, Grove, Sixth, Rehoboth Ave., Sussex, Kent, Cookman, Dover, Gerar, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Easton, Baltimore, Maryland, Olive, Virginia, First, Second, Felton

Friday: Lakeview, Grenoble, Lake Ave., Pennsylvania, Oak, Park, Columbia, Henlopen, St. Michael’s, Easton

All leaves must be out early on the collection day morning, if not, they will be picked up on the next scheduled day. There will not be any backtracking for pick ups.

One detail not mentioned in the official announcement: Jumping in your own leaf piles is optional.
