totalsalesThis is a question I hear several times a week, "How's the market?"  In the past few months, the question has been followed by a hopeful, "It's picking up, isn't it?"  I am quick to answer, "Yes, it is!"  Most recently, I've often pointed to the anecdotal evidence that Shoal Harbor, the townhouse development planned for the parcel previously home to Suburban Propane (adjacent to Rehoboth Avenue), sold out in 10 days.  (Back-up reservations are currently being taken.)  The Sussex County Association of REALTORS just came out with its end of the year report on the housing market, giving statistical evidence supporting a most positive answer to the question, "How's the Market?"

Year-end totals for 2012 were a 14% increase from 2011 total sales. According to the SCAOR MLS, $1,135,030,139 sales were recorded for 4006 transactions including single family homes, mobile homes, townhomes and condo units, farms, lots and land, and commercial property and fractional ownership.
