 22nd Annual Chocolate Festival Today!

Excitement filled the air as I walked up to the doors of the Rehoboth Convention Center this morning to enter my Coconut Macaroons Dipped in Chocolate into the 22nd Annual Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival early this morning. To one side of the registration space, a young woman was taking photos of a pyramid of perfect brownies displayed on a lovely milk glass cake stand. The woman in line ahead of me had a whimsical assortment of St. Patty's Day cupcakes, arranged in a kelly green lepruchan's hat. The ladies at the registration tables ooh'ed and ahh'ed over everyone's entries and a festive atmosphere abounded as the tables in the hall filled with incredible confections. Doors open to the public at 11:30 this morning! The entry fee is a small $2, which includes one mouthful of heaven on earth. Additional tastes may be purchased for $.50 apiece. Professional pastry chefs and amateur bakers of all ages are offering their favorite recipes for your appraisal. And this all benefits Friends of the Rehoboth Beach Library and Rehoboth Main Street. What a fun (and tasty!) way to spend a rainy day! And be sure to try the Coconut Macaroons!

100% of 2011 Goal Reached!

The Debbie Reed Team reached 100% of its 2011 goal in contributions to Susan G. Komen for the Cure through RE/MAX's Home for the Cure program. A portion of each commission earned by The Debbie Reed Team is donated to Susan G. Komen to help with its goal to fight breast cancer, support breast cancer patients and their families, and educate the public regarding prevention and research advances.

Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which is now the world's largest breast cancer organization and the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer with more than $1.9 billion invested to date. For more information about Susan G. Komen for the Cure, breast health or breast cancer, visit www.komen.org. One in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. The Debbie Reed Team is pleased for the opportunity to be an ongoing contributor to Komen's vital effort to end this life-threatening disease that effects so many and their families.
